My bestest friend, Payeik. A friend who i met 24 years ago at Tadika Raja Dewa and remain my best friend till today is going to puts an end to his bachelor days in a week time.
At this time, he still hanging out at my place. Talking on his handphone with his fiance (i hope...gagagaga). He always spend his time here, besides helping to finish my leftover foods and chocs on my fridge he also help to mess my already messed house, 'pow' my ciggy and of course hijacked my pc. Despite that i still enjoy his company.
Anyway, next Wednesday is his Akad Nikah ceremony and i'll be there. Of course life will be different after that, i'm sure i'm gonna see 'less' of him over here, although he is also not sure about it.... hehhehe funny.
"Here is a toast to Payeik, one of the last bachelor (besides me) who are brave enough to cross over to marriagedom....cheers"

An encounter @ Jackel
I went to Jackel two weeks ago. It is one of the biggest textile stores along Jalan Masjid India, on the same league with Alinas, Nogaya and Kamdar. Its a 4 storey storey stores with range of fabric, from as cheap as 3 Ringgit per meter to as expensive as 5 hundred ringgit per meter. Believed it!!
Anyway, i went there to get a French Lace cloth for my wedding 'hantaran'. As a men, i thought there are only two type of fabric, cotton and wool...but i was dead wrong, there are thousand(exaggerate) of them; like chiffon, silk, cashmere, lace, linen, velvet, satin,etc... phewww!! this shopping outing did thought me something about fabric.
Anyway again, as i was standing tired and sort of bored, trying to give full attention to my bride to be, testing the variety of fabric for her wedding dress, i noticed a man staring at me. At first glance, i thought it was somebody i knew, someone who i haven't met since 1994, my classmate at SMIP. Asmadi.
But, i may be wrong, and i brush that thought aside and keep trying to give attention to my fiance. Only then, that guy started to chat with my father (who happen to come with us for the shopping trip); who was also the headmaster at the school; i'm confident yes, it is Asmadi.
Oh my God, after all these years, i met him at this store doing the same thing; buying cloth for his bride to be. He looked a lil bit different although one thing remain the same from the good ol' days....his sideburn. This guy hail from Pasir Mas, he and another classmate Adrian Teh Aik Meng a.k.a Tokey are the two person responsible for introducing me to grunge music. Asmadi (Madi) was a hardcore fan of Nirvana and Tokey was a hardcore fan of Pearl Jam. I still remember both of them arguing in the class, which one among the two was the king of grunge.
I'm thrilled, excited and happy to find my old long lost friend. I still joked and laugh like we were kids. I exchanged phone no with him and promise to contact him...i hope i do, though i always failed.
I congratulate him before i depart and wish him all the best. He replied the same for me.
Walking out of the store, my mind keep thinking what have become of Tokey, Baker, Mat Le, Miji Che Min and my other SMIP-mates. I wish all the best to all of them!!

Malaysia Today is down...today!!
Salam to All,
As usual before i went to my 6 hours slumber, i would surf to Malaysia Today to get the latest alternative news of Malaysia.
RPK (Raja Petra Kamaruddin) the author or owner (which can't be legally proved by Malaysian Police Force) of this blog is a very talented story teller and even a not-so bad soothsayer. I enjoyed reading his articles and sensational news.
However, to my disappointment today, when i click the blog link in my favorite bookmarks, My Firefox (alternative browser) give me an error opening page. Demmit, this is the first time the site is down (as far as i'm aware). Is it a sign of trouble looming on the horizon for all the bloggers. Does the Evil Sauron has cast his dark Orcs and immortal Nazghul armies against the fellowship-of-the-blogger and the patriots of Malaysia. I hope not.
Or else the dark ages will soon shadowed this holy country.

HARI INI DALAM SEJARAH
Beginning midnight today, which is already passed. All petrolhead in Malaysia gonna pay RM 2.70 for RON97 petrol. The highest in Malaysian history, but its not gonna be the last.
I managed to save a few ringgit, by queueing at petrol pump for about 45 mins. I heard there are people who queue up to 2 hours... damn dawg!!
The government asked us to change our lifestyle, what is our options, the stupid public transport, the ever expensive car price (including proton), etc. They don't practice what they preach, look at all those 'corrupt' ministers, politician and businessmen alike, flashing their proud Germany or Italian Marque, which gulping more petrol than average Malaysian and now they want us to change our sorry-state lifestyle.
I say change the government.

Gigit kasut tu....
A few days ago, while having my lunch at Wisma Central (that old building infront of Avenue K), Jabar, my colleague came over with a frown face. He then slip out his feet from his shoes. The shoe shine like it was just being taken out from a display in a shopping mall. It is indeed a brand new shoe.
Apparently, this fellow doesn't feel comfortable with his brand new 'property'...its killing his feet. Then come the interesting part, my other colleague said..
"ko tak gigit ke kasut tu masa beli?"
I was like, huh, why would you bite that shoe...i never heard such statement before. Actually it was a petua (that i never heard), that you have to bite the brand new shoe you bought before you wear it, else it will bite you!!
hahaha really interesting, i'm sure Jabar gonna bite and chew that shoe afterwards..hehe.

Its a Matter of Faith
faith (fth)
n.
1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.
4. often Faith Christianity The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.
5. The body of dogma of a religion: the Muslim faith.
6. A set of principles or beliefs.
I have faith in my religion Islam. How can i have this faith, when i don't even see/smell/hear/touch/taste can the God (Allah that i worship). How can i have this faith, when i don't even met the messenger (Prophet Muhammad SAW) who deliver this teaching? How can i have faith in Hell and Heaven when i can't see it and there is no scientific evidences to prove it?
Thats why its a matter of faith. I'm confident belie of the idea, person and value that Islam has. Of course the faith is build up by the surrounding factors such as teaching, logics and comparison....but ultimately its up to you yourself to have this faith.
But what i want to talk here is not about faith in Religion but a faith in relationship. To the lesser extend, a couple should have good faith in each other. But many would argue (and mostly women), that a couple should have something to hold on, not just a faith, such as the holy 3 letter words "i love you".
A 3 letter contract between men and women (sometimes in same sexes) which loosely tied themselves and at any time can be revoke and the best part, cannot be challenged in any court of law in the whole world. Hecks, that why the westerner come up with the prenuptial.
Well that should be the basis of relationship, if we refer to the western definition of relationship. Take for example in the many hollywood movie, there would be a scene where the man says "I love you" then kissed the girl and the rest is history (as always). But that does not necessarily be the only way.
Many couples who go down that road, still end up break up. So you cannot hold on to the the letter words, or how passionate your relationship has been or other factors. Sometimes you just have to have the faith in a person....yes you may end up heart broken or live happily ever after.
Women need security and something firm when it comes to relationship. That is their nature, it has been and always will be like this. But my advise is, don't take them for granted or seriously just because they don't or do tell you the 3 letter words.
Just have faith!!

Correcting the bigotry of Geert Wilders
In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful,
There is a controversy surrounding and shocking the whole muslim nation this week. Well i think it didn't happen overnight but years of hated research and plan by Geert Wilders to insult Allah Almighty, The Holy Quran, our beloved Prophet Muhammad SWT, our holy religion Islam and all Muslim Brothers and Sisters in the world.
You all can watch the controversial videos here on the youtube. I just saw it and i went straight away to look for the translation of each surah and verse he mentioned in that biase/unjust/shameful video. Shame on me for not understanding arabic and have to google the meanings on the web.
Translations below is coming from Jakim site (Malay) here and University of Michigan site (English) here.
The verses mentioned on his video.
Surah 8 verse 60
Prepare to destory them with all force, terrorize your enemy and Allah enemy...
[60]
Sesungguhnya Ia Maha Mendengar, lagi Maha Mengetahui.
[8.60] And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah's way, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be dealt with unjustly.
[8.61] And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and trust in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Surah 4 verse 56
"Those who are disbelievers will be burned in fire and when their skin is crispy like a turkey's we will replace it with another skin so that they will know their punishment. Allah is great and wise.
[56]
[4.56] (As for) those who disbelieve in Our communications, We shall make them enter fire; so oft as their skins are thoroughly burned, We will change them for other skins, that they may taste the chastisement; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.
[4.57] And (as for) those who believe and do good deeds, We will make them enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them for ever; they shall have therein pure mates, and We shall make them enter a dense shade.
Surah 47 Verse 4
When you have an encounter with disbelievers, cut their throats with a sword and spill their blood...
[4]
[47.4] So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish.
Surah 47 Verse 89
They would like to see you become disbelievers, don't trust this people as long as they don't follow Allah, when they escape kill them whereever you find them, don't trust them it will be your grave....
[89]
[4.89] They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
From the 3 weak example that he simply pick from the holy verse of Al Quran, he labelled and instilled hatred of other religion towards islam, provocating Muslim to react and confused those who didn't understand.
Each surah and verse in Al Quran was delivered to Prophet Muhammad PBUH based on certain event at that time. It is still applicable nowdays, provided the same event is happening. People who read Al-Quran must also aware that certain commandment is strike out when a latter verse and surah is delivered to Prophet Muhammad PBUH. I'm no expert on this field, if youre interested i suggest you find a good Ustad to guide you.
Anyway, on the first example, is a situation during a war. Muslim is commanded to prepare and fight for a war. Every civilization and religion does the same thing. Then look at the verse that follow, if the enemy seek a truce then Muslim must also accept it. Hatred you say? Nahhh....
Second example, it is an explanation about life after death and kiamat (judgement day). Disbelievers including those who murtad will be punished accordingly and those who serve Allah will be rewarded accordingly. What you give you get back... even Scorpion understand this basic karma. Shame on GW.
Third example also refer to the war time. Fight or Jihad as hard as you can to win the war. We are not promoting war although we have been attacked for centuries by the disbelievers. Looked at all crisis in the world, who started it?
The fourth example emphasize the consequence of being a disbeliever. Those who leave Islam can be killed after we consulted them 3 times. Harsh it may sound, but God Almighty is always generous and merciful. Some actions deserved heavy bearing.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
To show our protest to this Wild accusation of Mr Wilders. Lets start Boycott Dutch Product Campaign. Refer to the list here and uniliver products here. The easiest way we can do is to stop filling up at Shell (Royal Dutch Shell) station. Peace be upon you.

Daulat Tuanku
Daulat Tuanku.
Wahai orang2 UMNO, ingatlah dah hayatilah kembali rukun negara.
KELUHURAN PERLEMBAGAAN
KEDAULATAN UNDANG-UNDANG
KESOPANAN DAN KESUSILAAN
Daulat Tuanku! Daulat Tuanku! Daulat Tuanku!

The People has spoken
A few days before election i designed the poster on the left as sort of last minutes propaganda to counter BN attacks on my beloved Kelantan (it was never published though). I have to say, i was scared that Kelantan will turn blue in this general election. Mass media played non stop propaganda promoting BN to the masses and some spesific 'advert' targetting Kelantan.
Even KJ with his usual arrogant and over confident style, launch a special '18 Tahun Pade Doh' campaign under the umbrella of Pemuda BN. The pressure given by the ruling goverment was so huge. Even Nik Aziz and thousand of Kelantanese held 'solat hajat', asking God Almighty for help, during this difficult time. It makes me feel obligated to came back to my home town, cast a vote against BN. Thats all the rights and power that i have. That is my voice.
That was last week. Today, everyone in Malaysia and our neighboring countries knows what the result was. THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN. To my shocked many of them speaks the same language as me. No, we don't want BN anymore. The people are sick
and tired of the lies. The people don't want to see their hard earned money being gamble by those who walks on the corridor of power (term borrowed from Raja Petra). The people down below is suffering, the rich becomes the king and the poor becomes the slave. They had enough. They brave themselves to cast for uncertainty, unchartered territory, unwritten history. They demand change.
Frontpage of NST on 9th March showed the picture on the right. The Blues has been beaten with The Greens, Reds and Cyans. I never expected it, BN never expected it, everyone never expected. But one thing for sure, everyone vote on what they believed and want.
The People Has Spoken. So government, i beg you to listen....

Kelate is different....
BN gatherings organized by Kelantan Development Council yesterday at Bukit Kiara. It was quoted that 5000 people attend it. This is the only photos shown on The Star, other dailies didn't put any. I doubt it was 5000.
If you looked closely at the middle, there are large number of Indians. Yes there are indians in Kelantan, but BN are also known to bring paid supporters during such gathering. Even Kelantanese are shamed to attend such event. euuww.....
This are photos taken tonight, at PERANAKAN (Persatuan Anak Kelantan) + PAS gathering. It was held in Hotel Nikko. Since it was 5 mins drive from my home, so i went there. To see and listened to Tok Guru advise.
The hall was fully packed, this time no indian were seen...got what i mean. They all came here with their own will, no promised of 'duit tiket bas'.
Even my friend who went to UMNO HQ didn't get the promised money....as expected... 'duit kena kebas' by those who are entrusted to distribute
the money. Money politics is rooted so deeply in UMNO it was impossible to remove it. Unless you reform it from top to bottom. Anwar tried, see what happened to him.
Asked anyone who join UMNO, why they did so? the only answer you will get is, "for project lah". Shame on you. Since UMNO-BN cannot be heal (at this moment) from their money-hungry-addiction, a lot of young professionals, executives, teacher, lawyers, accountants, public servants and others are shy away from them. This are the middle class with intellects, who can differentiate between the good and bad.
Even if you went to any public varsities, you can clearly see how popular the oppositions (read PAS) is. Its not 'cool' to support the ruling government.
I'm not PAS member, just a Kelantanese with very clear concise mind. If i am given choice to pick between good and evil, i'll pick good, between good and better, i pick better or maybe between evil and lesser evil, i'll pick lesser evil (of course it is not in this case).
I want a group of people in our Noble Parliament, to fight for the people, to criticize government wrong doing, to checks on government spending, to uphold the truth even if it is not popular, the defend the poor against the power-money hungry politicians.
UMNO-BN keeps hailing their development mantra, thats is their only salvo. They can't criticize PAS-led government with other issues like nepotism, corruptions or the likes, as they are the main culprit. Tok Guru has done a great job as MB. He brings a development inline with Islamic teaching.
I don't want KB to be like KL. I want to eat Nasi Berlauk (or nasi kerabu or nasi dagang) that cost not more than 1 ringgit, even drinks Teh O' which cost not more than 70 cent. Hell yeah, your ringgits has more value in Kelantan.
Who says that we are deeply poor, those propaganda by RTM, is really hurting Kelantanese hearts, as it is full of bull-sh*t. We are the state where cash is always our mode of transactions. No credit cards. As Tesco, Mydin and other shopping malls can concur, if you don't believed me. Our people, especially women are known as traders long before British set foot in Penang.
A non-executives (those with only SPM) can live comfortably in a bunglow in Kota Bharu. Where can you find this kind of example. We are not lacking at all, in term of development. We don't want so called development, that can ruin our way of life.
There is no other state in Malaysia, like Kelantan. There is no other people in Malaysia like Kelantanese, we dare to be different. Hey its been 18 years. It has been a history of itself, they should put it in SPM text book, hahha i doubt its gonna happened.
God Willing, Kelate will remain under Ulamak leadership.

a midnight request
i got this message just now:
Aik. Tak tido lg? Emm bole x janji that i ll b the 1st person among ur frens to know ko dah ada gf/tunang/nk kawin? :P
its kinda hard to promise it, i mean if she said she wanna be among the first to know, then i can to that, but to promise she will be the first, it needs a lot of awareness, consciousness and sincerity on my side.
I'll try to come out with 'politically correct' promised.

Ada apa dengan Tiket Wayang?
What is the story behind pair of movie tickets? It can just be a case of two person went for their favorite movie, end of case.
It could also mean the beginning of something big between the two person. Perhaps.
How ironic it is when those two tickets are a month a part. 16th of January and 16th of February. It is totally a coincidence.
2 tickets, 3 persons, 2 different epics waiting to be explore.

Love Hurts
Let me jot this down, before my memory failed me.
My colleague and also one of my best friends since June 2004 called me down for Solat Zohor and lepaking (read smoking) from my office this afternoon. As usual at 3.30pm i went down, expecting the normal chit chat, laughing, tension release session at smoking corners.
Then, this guy 'pow' me one stick of ciggy, though he is not a smoker, sometimes he plays with smoke, so sincerely i gave one to him (without the intention of killing him, though it might!). He looked kusam ( kusut + masam) , but again sometimes its normal for him. I thought it must be the job.
He asked me with joking tone "Bila mau kawen be?". Sort of usual question i lately received. I jokingly answered, "Taun depan lah kot, ko mesti kawen dulu, Dr mesti dah tanya tu". *His gf is a Doc.
Next he slowly whisper to me, to avoid the large crowd to notice, "awek aku mintak break". I was stunned, a statement hard to swallowed and i've been in this same situation before with Tumpaque. The looked on his face is exactly the same as what Tumpaque was. It is bullshit if i say i understand how he feels, coz i will never do, its his story and only him knows it. Being a good friend and in this critical situation i better choose my words carefully, or else i might inflict more damage to the hurting organ (read heart).
I asked him what happened. With a gentle, deep sound he responded "dia jumpa org lain, mamat kelate". While puffing the ciggy like a hustler he continue his stories, seems that his gf met this guy a month ago and there is an affair going on between them, up to the point she wants to break up. My friend wants to marry her if thats what it take to secure the love of his heart, but again the answer from his gf disappointing him.
He even suggest that the new guy cast a spell (ubat guna-guna) to her gf. I couldn't say for sure but i know there are cases like that. It is possible since that guy is a MA (Medical Assistant) at one of govt hospital, if we talk about 'sekufu' , this is absolutely not sekufu case but again sometimes love just blind. It blinded you from everything and sorry to say, that it was always blinded the women.
I know that at this juncture it is very difficult to turn things around, especially when the request came from the girl itself. Men are more realistic in assessing the relationship status. They are not too overwhelm with their emotions and always factoring other considerations. One of my friend just resume his relationship with his gf for 7 years albeit he met a new girl which is as good as the one he have, for the sake of responsibility. Although the spark is almost die, he is committed to bring it up and he cherished the 7 years they had together, plus other factor.
I asked this fellow, to go and see his gf, i even advised him to brings flowers ! just to sweeten things up. They need to talk..... talking sincerely. May the best came out today.

Do we really read Koran?
Read:
1. To examine and grasp the meaning of (written or printed characters, words, or sentences).
That is the definition of reading. To the least you should understand the meaning of each word (vocabulary) and then indulge the whole meaning of the sentences.
As for me i don't really understand what read (if that is call reading in the first place). Shame on me, i know! I (we) been taught to 'read' Koran since we were kids, probably around 4 years old. Our parent sent us to Tok Guru/Ustaz/Ustazah house or even religious school to read the holy book. There we started to learn, the first character is alif, then ba followed by ta. It rhyme so well that we sometimes say, 'pegi belajar alif ba ta' which is equivalent to learn the Koran.
We also learn the sounds when this character is combined, i.e: alif atas = aa , alif bawah = ii and alif depan = uu, thus becomes aa ii uu, followed by ba, ta and so on. When we mastered that, we are then asked to read short sentences in the Koran. Ustaz/Ustazah/Tok Guru were so persistence to make sure we really got the sound right, they always have a long 'rotan' besides them. New school of taught may say that instilling fear in kids to get the results is NOT the right way, well for me it works back then.
After that we start to learn reading the first surah of Koran which is Al-Fatihah, also known as the mother of the book, although the first commandment by Allah to Muhammad is in surah Iqra'. From there we learn to finish what is called back then 'Quran Kecil' (small Koran), next comes the the part of 'reading' the whole holy book and after that we finished the learning process which sometimes accompanied by a small functions of 'Khatam Al-Quran'.
The question is, from those period of 2,3 or 4 years learning to 'read' The Koran, do we really reading it, or we just making the right sound without really understand what we read (if you call it reading). Wait wait, i'm not condemning the traditional ways of learning 'reading' The Koran, but there was a gap. Most of us, including me, thought that, "yippie, thats it, i already khatam Al-Quran". Whereas there should be another process of LEARNING THE MEANING/TEACHING/STORY inside the holy book.
It is no doubt in our secular school teaching, we are spared 'Pendidikan Islam' to help us understand this religion. The teaching of The Koran is passed on through the syllabus, but not as chapter by chapter itself. Look at the William Shakespeare play Hamlet. I think in some western countries it becomes a subject of study of itself, reading (the real reading) from page to page, interpret, debate the meaning of the masterpiece.
Well if that book/play, written by a human being is considered as masterpiece, then The Holy Koran would be greatestpiece. It was not crafted by human, but rather a God commandment itself and shame on us for not understanding what we are reading (if that is call reading).

Strike Three
Three different girls, three different men, three different locations and me. Same incident, same intention (i think??), same feeling and same surprised.
The first one happened in PD long long time ago. I have to admit, i never saw its coming. So it was a total surprised. Took me a while to understand the incident and to react (with no actions) . The second one, i kind of have a gut feel that its gonna happen, not really a surprised, i went well prepared. And also thanks to my friend who were there. Oh ya, it happens in Setiawangsa. The third one happened today. It was surprising, i was caught off guard again!! It happens around KLCC.
Maybe the motives for those three incidents are the same, maybe not. Third time is the charm, right? Maybe its time for me to act.... we'll see.

I'm afraid to start because........ its gonna end
I just read this one article in a friend's blog. Here it goes...
Once you're sure you're on the right road
there is no need to plan your journey too far ahead.
Don't burden yourself with doubts and fears
as to the obstacles that may bar your progress.
You can only take one step at a time.
You don't need to know all the answers in advance.
Just maintain a clear idea of the goal you want to reach
and the answers will come in their own time.
If you can get up the courage to begin, you'll have the courage to succeed.
It's the job you never start that takes the longest to finish.
Go after what you want and you'll get it.
I have to concur that this is so true, atleast i've experienced it. I just don't want to start because i don't want it to end. I really hate the ending part. but again its life every beginning has its end. Maybe this year i have to really focusing to start...... everything. Have courage.
Eighty Percent of Success is Showing Up
