About a ciggy

Disclaimer: This entry is NONE about promoting of smoking cigarette. It just an insight of the smokers life...

Ciggy; cigarette; rokok; krontip (rokok siam), refer to the same thing, a stick with a processed tobacco in it with a filter in one of its end.

Operating Method: lights one end without the filter, inhale a bit to make sure the fire caught the tobacco and walla!! you're ready to go. Putt the ciggy off before it caught up the filter.

When i was about to go to work today, i heard the DJ (Khairil and Kiran) were talking about giving up smoking in Ramadhan. As usual, we smokers always have this thought when it come to Ramdhan. It 'seems' that it is the best time to stop, i know a few who prevail and also a lot who fail.

I start smoking right after SPM but i've experimenting it before in form 3,4 and 5. To say that it was peer pressure will overly stated although they do become a factor why i did start. To be frank i cannot stand the smell of the smoke when we used to hand out everyday after SPM. People used to say "If you can't beat em' join em'", that is what i did and now i have to say i regret it.

Another problem with me is that i like to try new things, and when i try 'bad' things i usually hooked up and it damn hard to stop. Thats why don't wanna try drugs, sex and alcohol...... can't imagine if i hooked up on that shite. hmmm... well i did try 'ganja' as far as i remembered, maybe twice.

I started with Dunhill (remember the ads 'Gaya mutu keunggulan'),thanks to the gov for stopping tobacco ads on TV otherwise i don't know how worse the situation would be. Dunhill is consider as one of 'kuat' and 'keras' ciggy. The first time i tried it, cause me to lay down on bed...kinda high. Then when i go to MCC (Mara Community College), things getting worse, i can say that 70% of male population there smoke...!! my roomate Sudin smoke Marlboro so do most of the people there, the reason....maybe because it was an American Degree college, so ppl start to change to american style...yes i know its a lame excuse. Now you can see all the student with pack (soft pack) of Marlboro in their pockets.

Move to UTP i started taking Mild Seven, i think Pok Weil is the one responsible for introducing me to this Japan's brand. So i smoked Mild Seven until today. In between i've tried Lucky Strike, Camel, Gudang Garam Suria, Winston, Peter Stuyvesant, etc.

Ok now back to ciggy, when youre young like that you don't really think how bad something could be. You think you're always in control and you can stop anytime, hahah, well after 10 years i'm still hooked up to the tobacco sensation. I think its more on physhological effect, yes the sensation effect. I mean if you eat durian, you can taste it on your tongue and smell it on your nose....wahhh how best is this durian, but when you smoke the 'taste' it actually not there. You can only feel a smoke entering your throat to your lungs as you inhale and coming out to your mouth or nose (if you prefer). No taste at all!!

So what makes this 24.8% smoker in Malaysia smoke is because of the nicotine + other chemicals sensation. Human activity is all controlled by their brains, it make you feel all sorts of sensation, look at Paracetamol (or we call Panadol), does it really cure your flu, fever etc.... i'm no doctor by i think not. Panadol is just a pain killer, it blocked your pain sensation and let your brain thinks that the pain is gone. Then you go to rest, while youre resting or sleeping the body starts to recuperate and you woke up you feel better (sometimes when you're not and you take another dose of Panadol). The point is those who can control dia mind and will can stop smoking.

Will is a big word. You can say whatever you want to, i want to this, i wan to do that, but can you really make it. As for me that one is still beyond reach. I'm weak i have to admit it.

So for the time being i'll still be one of the person in a statistics who contribute to the big tobacco company RM 3 million revenue per month.

Ahlan Wa Sahlan Ya Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum,

Selamat datang bulan Ramdhan, begitula bunyi translation utk title topic ini. Bermula Maghrib tadi umat Islam di Malaysia telah mula menyambut kedatangan Ramadhan dgn menjalankan ibadat sunat Tarawih yg menjadi begitu sinonim dgn budaya masyarakat Melayu Islam di Malaysia.

Surau2 dan Masjid2 yang pada bulan lain lengan dan sunyi mula dibanjiri oleh muslimin dan muslimat yg datang utk mendapat keberkatan dan keredhaaan Allah di bulan yg mulia ini. Satu pemandangan yg aku kira menyentuh perasaanku.

Meskipun ibadat sunat Tarawih boleh dilakukan sendirian dirumah, namun di zaman Khalifat Umar Al Khattab ibadat ini telah diadakan secara berjemaah di masjid, bidaah hasanah (baik)hingga ke hari ini. Jadi jika anda terlepas utk berjemaah di masjid janganlah keciwa sehingga meniggalkan terus solat Tarawih pada malam tersebut, anda masih boleh bersolat bersendirian dirumah.

Bulan Ramadhan adalah bulan bonus, jika kakitangan kerajaan menuggu pengumuman bonus di hari belanjawan, maka utk umat Nabi Muhammad dijanjikan bonus di bulan ini. Pertama adalah bonus berpuasa, kedua bonus solat Tarawih dan ketiga bonus malam Lailatul Qadr.


Shalat tarawih atau shalat malam memiliki keutamaan dan keistimewaaan sebagai salah satu ibadah di bulan suci Ramadhan. Apa saja keutamaan shalat tarawih itu?
Dari Ali bin Abi Thalib ra bahwa dia berkata: Nabi SAW ditanya tentang keutamaan-keutamaan tarawih di bulan Ramadhan. Kemudian beliau bersabda:

1. Orang mukmin keluar dari dosanya pada malam pertama, seperti saat dia dilahirkan oleh ibunya.
2. Dan pada malam kedua, ia diampuni, dan juga kedua orang tuanya, jika keduanya mukmin.
3. Dan pada malam ketiga, seorang malaikat berseru dibawah 'Arsy: "Mulailah beramal, semoga Allah mengampuni dosamu yang telah lewat."
4. Pada malam keempat, dia memperoleh pahala seperti pahala membaca Taurat, Injil, Zabur, dan Al-Furqan (Al-Quran).
5. Pada malam kelima, Allah Ta'ala memeberikan pahala seperti pahala orang yang shalat di Masjidil Haram, masjid Madinah dan Masjidil Aqsha.
6. Pada malam keenam, Allah Ta'ala memberikan pahala orang yang berthawaf di Baitul Makmur dan dimohonkan ampun oleh setiap batu dan cadas.
7. Pada malam ketujuh, seolah-olah ia mencapai derajat Nabi Musa a.s. dan kemenangannya atas Fir'aun dan Haman.
8. Pada malam kedelapan, Allah Ta'ala memberinya apa yang pernah Dia berikan kepada Nabi Ibrahin as
9. Pada malam kesembilan, seolah-olah ia beribadat kepada Allah Ta'ala sebagaimana ibadatnya Nabi saw.
10. Pada Malam kesepuluh, Allah Ta'ala mengaruniai dia kebaikan dunia dan akhirat.
11. Pada malam kesebelas, ia keluar dari dunia seperti saat ia dilahirkan dari perut ibunya.
12. Pada malam keduabelas, ia datang pada hari kiamat sedang wajahnya bagaikan bulan di malam purnama.
13. Pada malam ketigabelas, ia datang pada hari kiamat dalam keadaan aman dari segala keburukan.
14. Pada malam keempat belas, para malaikat datang seraya memberi kesaksian untuknya, bahwa ia telah melakukan shalat tarawih, maka Allah tidak menghisabnya pada hari kiamat.
15. Pada malam kelima belas, ia didoakan oleh para malaikat dan para penanggung (pemikul) Arsy dan Kursi.
16. Pada malam keenam belas, Allah menerapkan baginya kebebasan untuk selamat dari neraka dan kebebasan masuk ke dalam surga.
17. Pada malam ketujuh belas, ia diberi pahala seperti pahala para nabi.
18. Pada malam kedelapan belas, seorang malaikat berseru, "Hai hamba Allah, sesungguhnya Allah ridha kepadamu dan kepada ibu bapakmu."
19. Pada malam kesembilan belas, Allah mengangkat derajat-derajatnya dalam surga Firdaus.
20. Pada malam kedua puluh, Allah memberi pahala para Syuhada (orang-orang yang mati syahid) dan shalihin (orang-orang yang saleh).
21. Pada malam kedua puluh satu, Allah membangun untuknya sebuah gedung dari cahaya.
22. Pada malam kedua puluh dua, ia datang pada hari kiamat dalam keadaan aman dari setiap kesedihan dan kesusahan.
23. Pada malam kedua puluh tiga, Allah membangun untuknya sebuah kota di dalam surga.
24. Pada malam kedua puluh empat, ia memperoleh duapuluh empat doa yang dikabulkan.
25. Pada malam kedua puluh lima , Allah Ta'ala menghapuskan darinya azab kubur.
26. Pada malam keduapuluh enam, Allah mengangkat pahalanya selama empat puluh tahun.
27. Pada malam keduapuluh tujuh, ia dapat melewati shirath pada hari kiamat, bagaikan kilat yang menyambar.
28. Pada malam keduapuluh delapan, Allah mengangkat baginya seribu derajat dalam surga.
29. Pada malam kedua puluh sembilan, Allah memberinya pahala seribu haji yang diterima.
30. Dan pada malam ketiga puluh, Allah ber firman : "Hai hamba-Ku, makanlah buah-buahan surga, mandilah dari air Salsabil dan minumlah dari telaga Kautsar. Akulah Tuhanmu, dan engkau hamba-Ku."

Demikianlah, keutamaan shalat tarawih yang disebutkan oleh Rasulullah SAW.


Firman Allah bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya kami telah turunkan al-Quran itu pada malam yang penuh keberkatan dan sesungguhnya Kami-lah yang memberi peringatan.” (Surah al-Dukhan, ayat 2)

Firman Allah bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya kami telah turunkan al-Quran itu pada malam kemuliaan.” (Surah al-Qadr, ayat 1)

Kepada mereka Allah memberikan ganjaran kebaikan yang sama nilainya dengan beramal seribu. Firman Allah bermaksud: "Malam al-Qadar itu itu lebih baik daripada seribu bulan.” (Surah al-Qadr, ayat 3)

Marilah kita bersama2 merebut bonus yang datang setahun sekali ini. Jika 11 bulan telah dikorbankan utk urusan duniawi, apalah sangat sebulan ini kita 'concerntrate' dan fokus utk urusan akhirat kita.

i'm exhausted

There was an event back in office today, EMIT TEAMBUILDING 2006. I was one of the committee members. Sufficient to say the event went well and all the congratulations pouring into, but other people might not realize what does it cost us/me to make it happen. I must say a lot of energy, time and commitment has been put into. Taki dude youre surely remember when we talk about this early this year, one of the ideas was a Treasure Hunt around KLCC, though it didn't happen like that, but the concept of treasure hunt is till there.

I'm so sad that i miss a 'tahlil' for my anak sepupus last night, this is one of the cost. Kay i received the invitation from my kazen a few days ago, a tahlil is going to be held at their house last nite, somewhere around PJ, section 5.

So yesterday, i have planned it to get there by 8 just in time for Isya'. However there was this committee meeting in the evening to finalize all the stuff, its started at 5 and finish at 7, that after i notified them that i have to leave by that time.

Even so, there are so many others stuff that i still have to do that i only managed to leave office at about 7.45 (that is good enuff, i thought). Travel to PJ i did, and i arrive there at about 8 smthg. I don't really know where the house is, except that the address that i have on hand, i had make 2,3 times u turn around section 5 looking for Lorong 5/15E. Suddently i received a call from Cold Storage, i need to make payment for the hamper as i already promised them to do so.

Initially i planned to pay em' at 6, but since the meeting drag up to 7, i totally forgot and just left off. Now one hand on a steering wheeling another hand on my P910 handset and my mind started to rationalize what to do..... At that time it was already 8.30 and i was already late for the tahlil which i do not know where it is. Finally i made a call to return back to KLCC and 'have' to give up the tahlil. Its not an easy one and along the way, i kept thinking what would i think if it was my tahlil and my relatives and friends simply left me because there are busy........

To arwah Nik Li my anak sepupu, i'm guilty for you. I'm gonna pay back by read yassin for your soul. Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke atas rohnya dan menempatkannya bersama orang-orang yg beriman. Ameen.

Taki Dude, hope youre reading this. Since you know most of the stories bout me, then this new material that i found in her blog might bring some clues this whole drama. ....until our path crossed each other again

we say this when we leave our friends. obviously we are at a juction that lead to different direction than our friends, although going to different ways, we hope that we will see each other again.

last weeks i went to KL Sentral and i met my senior in MRSM, both of us recognize each other and both of us doesn't remember each other names. our path crossed again.

while surfing friendster not long ago, i stumbled upon another my MRSM senior, and he was my 'Ketua Bilik'. our path crossed each other again.

i have a bunch of friends in standard 1 (Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sultan Ismail 1, especially those in class '1 Biru'. When i left the school i hope to see them again and yes i did met them in Form 4 at MRSM PC. They were Payeik, Sede and Peja. Our path crossed each other again.

and i am also amused when one of my collegue in office, did end up in my blog here. no one in the office knows about it, but she did cross the path with me here!!

My next hunny......

I had Nikon SQ (status: gone) and Sony W5 (status: working great)previously. To add this new hunny into my collection, gonna cause a big hole in my pocket....but i still want it though. :D

I was texting with someone today. When all conversation lead her to ask me this question.

"U happy?"

The question really struck me deep inside, pausing me from the fact of this universe for a while, and make me dive deep inside myself looking for the answer. It's not like an ordinary question like "are u hungry?", "are u bored?", "are u sick?", which there is a lot of body sensors that can detect it and simultaneously feedback the answer. It involves more into feelings..

The truth is i don't know whether i'm happy or not. But that is not the answer that i gave to her. In a smaller scope i try to answer according to what had happen between us and the anwswer was.

"Im happy 2 do a right thing."

- aku terkejut mendapat jawapan begini. semacam satu kenyataan yg tidak dapat diterima oleh kepala otak aku ini. Persoalan besar yg keluar, Kenapa?

me:"Astagfirullah. Sabar bro. Ad hikmah tu. Nanti lain kali story"
- wpun aku mmg ingin tahu apa yg sebenarnya terjadi (bukan bermaksud utk bergossip tetapi utk menjadi teladan) namun aku simpan dulu petanyaan besar itu, kerana situasi yg masih 'panas' ini.

En J:"Dun wori bro i'm fine. kt doa je la"
- wpun jawapannya nampak tenang, namun hanya Tuhan shj yg tahu betapa bergeloranya hatiNya, apakan tidak menara yg ingin dibina hancur musnah begitu sahaja.

Rupa2nya En J penah menghantar sms yg berbunyi seperti berikut, 2 hari sebelum ini.
En J:"A'kum bro. minta maaf majlis kawin kansel tp kenduri d melaka ttp ada. djemput hadir"
- mmg aku telah baca msg itu pada hari tersebut, namun tafsiran aku pada masa itu adalah berlainin. Pada mulanya aku membayangkan upacara 'kawin' (bersanding dan sebagainya) yg kansel tetapi mereka masih di akad nikahkan, namun hal yg langsugn tidak aku terfikir terjadi. Jika tidak masakan aku masih memberi ucapan tahniah padanya dihari ini.

Terkedu aku memikirkan perkara ini. Suatu perjalan perhubungan yg panjang, yg sudah menghampiri ke jalan yg halal, hanya menantikan satu ijab kabul utk dimaktubkan, tiba2 terkandas di pintu pelamin. hmmmmmmmm...... sungguh menyedihkan. :(

Semoga Allah menjaukan aku dari ujian sebegini. Amin.

Where have all the good boys gone?

If youre married, asked this question to your spouse. "How many relationship do you have, before you married me?". Relation here is define as anything as long as u speak of 'i love you'. Chances are you will here that women will have more relationship to men.

Ok hang on, we are talking about the 'normal' people here. A fairly beautiful women and a fairly handsome men. Not on the two opposite end of the graph, the superly brad pitly looking guys or a crooked looking guy. You got the main aye?

1. Women will have more than 3 relationship.
2. Men will have less than 3 relationship.
3. Ratio of men to women in Malayias is like 1 men to 8 women (if i'm not mistaken).

So here comes the big questions, with who did this women have all the relationship when their partner doesn't involves in this. The answer is, they (all women) are chasing all this 'player'.

Player is a name that have evolved from centuries ago. During 14th century they may be known as Casanova. Some women labelled thema as 'buaya', 'musang', 'mat romeo', etc. They are what i called fortunate males who were given the charming looks and action beyong their ordinary spesies. It is recognize that this spesies do hunt women for their pleasure, but it is also an underlook theory where female do provoke this 'Player' to like them. I won't indulge too much on this matter in fact (next time probably).

So what happen to all this good boys, back then. From my experience and my friend's experience, men don't generally rush into relationship. They might involves with some stupid monkey love during their primary or secondary schooling but after that they probably don't. They need soo much time with their FRIENDS... so gals now you should know why friends are important to men.

In contrast to women, they are constantly need to feel secure or in the need of companion. Women confess to me that even if they have girl friends, they still need their boyfriend, to channel the enormous amount of emotions that they have. Its true, women are full of emotion and men are not. Does this rings a bell, when your male partner always forget your anniversaries? It doesn't mean they don't love you but their mind is not fully emotional to remember that date. For some it is just a date, as long as he love you, who cares?

wah.... i'm tired already. It is interesting topic, i promise to discuss it again.

i'm back in Kelantan.....its been quite some time since the last time i was back here. When youre home, there are certain feeling rushing into you........its hard to explain but it exist.

(Sigh)it been 1 month since i blogging, in between a lot of things have happen around me and within me. Israeli laknatullah have attack Palestine and Lebanon mercilessly, their war planes have pounded both places like they care not for any lives living there. A lot of our brothers and sisters have died in vain, May Allah Almighty put their souls in peace. I'm sorry for them.

Yestermonth also saw the biggest clash of of ideas between Muslim and non-Muslim in Malaysia, in the middle stood a person name Azlina Kamaruddin @ Lina Joy. This among the biggest test strike deep down into the heart of all Muslim in Malaysia. I can say some are not even bother at all but for the rest of us it is clearly a declaration of anti islam (from group called Article 11).... on our own soils? May Allah Almighty unite our heart against these people. I'm sorry (and sad) for those Muslim support Article 11.

Just a few days ago KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) begin answering all the negative allegation certain quarters made into his fasttracked reign into power, ECM Libra Scandal, Scenic bridge scandal, Maya Karin scandal and etc. I'm not saying i'm totally against him, but all the allegation i read do have its creadibility. If he is sincere with his UMNO struggle, i pray to Allah almighty to guide him. I'm sorry for him.

Another episode have also unfolded in my life. Two months ago if you asked me, i never expected this to happen, but it did happen. Even when it happen i never thought its gonna be complicated like this. I'm in dilemma. The decision making dilemma. In one hand i have to think about me, myself and I and on the other hand i have to think about all those people who might be affected with my decision.

This is not an overnight decision, i been thinking about it since it happen (and also before it happen). I slept thinking what i should do about it.

Would you go against your own principle that you believed in just for your own good?

Only God knows how difficult it has been. I try not to indulge to emotionally with my decision, i try to think straight, i try rationalize it, i pray to HIM to seek his guidances. This decision may hurt some people.....but i hope only for short period of time, but ultimately it will be the best decision for many people (i do estimate it gonna put me in losing end). I remember a dialogue in a movie "sometimes doing the right things isn't doing the right things". I hope this entry will become a testimonial (in the future) if it is ever be questioned again. I'm really sorry for her.

Total Cost of Ownership

I've just finished transfered my car maintenance bills into a spreadsheet. I guess a spreadsheet like that will be very handy when you want to check which shops are trying to chop off your head and which one give a value for money.

The list cover all repair works on my beauty Mazda 323 Protege (called Lantis in Malaysia). I knew from the beginning that buying 2nd hand car will incurred an additional cost of maintaining it. I like 2 be diff and Proton and Perodua cars are just too common...pardon me. Brand new Hondas, Nissan or other Japs beast are way beyong my reach... Korean car never appeal my taste and i never dream of continental cars.

Ok... so the total cost of maintenance for the past 1 year was RM 6458.

cheap? expensive? i'm not sure.

Nad and His Wife

Darn i've been very busy for the past 2 month...got a BIG event in my office called World Cup Extravaganza..its eating up my time, energy and also money!! this blog has been idle ever since. Now the shop is open back.

Went to Nad's wedding on 18/6/06. Me, Kimi + kawan kimi (apa nama dia ntah), Wari (a.k.a. Ayoh), Pian + fiance.

What a suprised when a long lost friend showed up..... Mat (a.k.a. Mat BDR) and his wife. There's been some riff between Mat and the rest of the group, but i guess time heals everything. We chit chat and joking just like the gool ol' days.

Big kudos goes to SARIP.....why? I never imagined that Sarip is coming to that wedding from his office in Kelana Jaya to Nilai on a Bike. I was like...."wow"...i know for sure he went there not just for a plate of Nasi Minyak(i think dia amik dua), BUT as a friend...a good friend.

Nad and his wife look very luvely, just like a couple made in heaven. Although i must admit the color looks kinda irratating to my eyes...hehehhe...

There was also Seraf, Irsan and Fido. Where is the others? I'm expecting more ppl to show up, but i guess as we grew older ppl are start busy with their life and couldn't make time for wedding ocassion like this. I remembered during Paul, Kimi wedding, we can easily get 5 cars full of friends = 20 ppl.

After i got back i receive SMS from Mat which read "Akum po. Just nak bgtau yg seronok dapat jumpa dgn ko n the others. Lama betul tak jumpa ya. Hmm, kalau ada apa2 aktiviti lepas ni nanti, jgn la lupakan aku k. Ok bro, do keep in touch and do have a nice day ahead aite bro!"

Did we abandon him? not any more.

Sudin and His Wife

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (Dengan Nama Allah Yg Maha Pemurah Lagi Mengasihi).
Sudin kawanku telah selamat diijabkabulkan dengan isterinya (sori nama lupa), majlis kenduri belah perempuan telah diadakan di Bandar Seri Permaisuri. Kami berempat aku, Kimi, Emin dan sorang kwn aku dr kelantan (tiada kaitan dgn Sudin) berkunjung ke kenduri itu utk memberi penghormatan kepada salah seorang sahabat baik (rakan serumah (Rumah 20), rakan secourse, rakan semoto)yg bernama Samsuddin Abdul Aziz.

Sudin mmg nampak bersedia dgn utk memulakan tugas baru sebagai seorang nakhoda bahtera keluarga. Tanggungjawab yg tidak kecil namun wajib dilaksanakan oleh semua umat Nabi Muhammad yg bernama lelaki.

Ketika aku sampai ke majlis, kebetulan rombongan Sudin juga baru sampai. Kelihatan dia memakai baju melayu berwarna ungu muda, bersampin, bertengkolok dan berkeris...gah!! sekali seperti Sultan Melayu. Pada mulanya dia kelihatan amat serius, mungkin ada sesuatu yg merunsingkan kepalanya. Lantas aku menyapa nya, seperti kebiasaan yg aku lakukan "Weh Dingg". Dia tersengih, senyuman yang biasa aku lihat.

Aku memuji 'kehebatan' gayanya pada hari itu, masih sempat dia berlawak "Tengok nih, aku ado kerih. Kerih betul ni" sambing memegang keris yg tersisip dipanggangnya. Aku senyum sahaja.

Dipendekkan cerita, aku pun pergilah 'sappadam' dgn rakan2 yg lain memberi ruang kepada kaum keluarga kedua2 belah pihak menyelesaikan adat dan istiadat. Sudin semoga kalian berdua bahagia selamanya.

loyalty vs stupidity

Here i am at 12:53am sipping quater full glass of coke, while inhaling my fav mild seven. (those 2 things gonna kill me soon!!)

i just realize that i still maintain my 10 year old hotmail account while at the same time utilizing yahoo!! mail and gmail. Maybe for some ppl they just gonna abandon their ol email when they have a new one. well some people just keep on changing their phone no.. i can't do that. i just love all the memories surrounding all things that related to me, be it email account, phone, no, notes book, pic, shirts, address books etc.

thinking deep down inside, i guess i'm kinda a loyal type of person, loyal to 'anything', even if i have something 'new' that ol things are never left behind. hmmm that bring me to another conclusion, i might be polygamous.... :D dont worry i'm loyal...

is loyalty a stupidity?
